Summer lovin'

Yes, it is the first weekend of summer and I am celebrating it with a big beach lime down on Harry Smith beach for Nik's birthday! No work for me this weekend! Lots of sun, sea, good eats and ice cold spicy Bloody Mary's!

ohh India..

Last night I watched the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel; oh how this movie reminded how much I long to visit the country of India. I know many people have told me "oh the the poverty, oh the pollution, oh the noise" but thats no reason to stop me. The world is full of contrasts and no where does it contrast like india. Can you even imagine the colours, the culture, the people, the places? India is a cultural and spiritual bedrock, having produced some of the greatest writers, artists and thinkers yet it is intrinsically associated with slums, unpleasant odours and delirious traffic. I for one cannot wait to embark upon this journey. Just imagine roaming India for 5 weeks or so discovering all the wonder and better yet discovering yourself.

Some Pink Biscuits..

Its been a while, I know, but i have been busy and my mind has been many places. Right now I just want to relax and have some...

Biscuit Roses de Reins are french pink biscuits usually served with tea and champagne. The Biscuit was conceived in 1690 when a baker wanted to make the most of the heat in the bread oven between batches. A vanilla pod was added to the biscuit for flavour however, this left brown traces. The baker then added a natural colorant to disguise this and thus the very pretty and succulent biscuit was born. This treat was much loved by some of the famous gourmets like King Charles X, Leopold II of Belgium and the Russian Tsar.

Live*

This was some of the advice given by Michelle Kohanzo, MD of The Land of Nod. It really speaks to each and everyone of us screaming life is too short not to wonder, live, explore and live some more.

Diamond Jubilee

Yesterday marked the end of the celebration of the Diamond Jubilee. It is hard to believe that Queen Elizabeth II has reined for 60 years! This is a once in a life time occurrence and I am glad I was present for it. So what better way to end the celebration than with the Queens very own scone recipe!

I Spy: Sugar Paper

So I'm starting yet another feature entitled "I Spy". I come across different companies/products all the time that I  love but unfortunately within a week I forget all about them. So what a perfect way to record/remember each and every one of them. :)

So yes I am  inlove..actually obsessed with stationary; so when I came across this insanely dreamy stationary by Sugar Paper I fell a little bit deeper. It is fairly pricy but boy is it pretty.  Really really really want to order a bunch!
