I'm One!

On 24th December was my dearest little Kilo's birthday! Since it was Christmas Eve his thunder got a little bit stolen but such is life when your a Christmas baby. He was one year old and more naughty than ever...but I <3 him too much. For his birthday we got him his favourite...a T-bone.

Happy Birthday Killlyy!

I spent the day at the beach and am now heading to church and then to Tapas for some traditional Christmas eve cocktails and tapas (I can hear the tamarind martini screaming my name!) Have a great Christmas eve everyone!

My Favorites

So I thought I would do a little post on my absolute favourite Christmas  Tree ornaments (it was very hard to choose believe you me). Many of them are so darn sparkly or have such sentimental meaning. So  here are the winners.
My sparkly little drummer boy I bought in TO.
My fabulous multicoloured ball from Natalee <3
My grandmother's vintage clip-on bird
My glittery reindeer
My Sand dollar that was painted the year I was born
My grandmother's hand carved tiny snow-man

A Kitchen To Love

Ok so is it me or is this kitchen actually a little bit to die for? From the blog For the Love Of A House, Joan the writer talks about different aspects of the transformation of an 'unloved antique farmhouse" into her home. Well, this is the Kitchen and it could not be more me! The fact that she kept what she could of the original farmhouse design, reused much of the hardware in renovation (for example the glass cabinets are made from the old glass that was once in the windows), incorporated alot of unique pieces from flea markets all over the world (including Paris :)  and still managed to fit in beautiful modern elements..wow! Take a look at this beauty for yourself!

Love the large farmhouse sink
This breakfast area is too perfect

A 'yes please' stove!
great storage

Wha'd I tell you..amaZing!

The Week Before Christmas

Well, I have been so super busy over the past couple days that I have greatly neglected my little space..but Tis the season right?

I cannot believe its here, but today is officially 6 days until Christmas. I think its that time where most of the going really stops (well if you did everything early) and you get to sit back relax and enjoy the simple things. Have a great start to the week before Christmas everyone!

Tonight is a night I look forward to all year! Us girls get together and have a plated Christmas meal + exchange our secret santa - last year our food was Bajan cuisine, this years its traditional english - IE a roast (tenderloin :) yorkshire pudding, potatoes etc.

We chat while sipping on wine and listening to great Christmas music...then we feast. Last year we sung carols too (lol) ..this year not sure thats quite the plan!

Candlelit Carols

Last night was the famous Carols by Candlelight - nothing puts me in the Christmas mood more than this!

For those of you who don't know what it is. Here in Barbados everyone gathers in the gardens of Prime Minister's house. There is loads of christmas entertainment and everyone sings carols. You enjoy wine, eats, sweet treats and whatever else you feel like! As the afternoon turns to night everyone lights a candle. It is so pretty and christmasy! <3

Festive Times*

Tonight is my aunt's Christmas cocktail party and then the Snow Ball at Lion Castle! It is going to be a great night full of festive fun! However, before all this fun I have alot of dashing around to do!!

How are you celebrating the Season? Keeping it quite or taking advantage of  all the glamour that comes with the season?

A Christmas Winter Retreat

Even though it is brilliant that Barbados has sun and warm temperatures year round it would be lovely to have seasons (at least every now and again)...I mean, I would absolutely love to cozy up with my close friends and family (+ Kilo) and spend christmas doing nothing but baking, drinking hot chocolate, sledding, relaxing, and simply enjoying each others company in front the fireplace of this simply stunning Mountain Cabin. Set in the forest of the Adirondack Mountains, it is a family home (and meeting spot) of Amanda Brooks (fashion director of Barney's New York).

Amanda and her family have been meeting up in this same cabin since the 80's and there is no question why!

These past few days have been beyond words hectic - fun hectic though! It's been Christmas shopping, wrapping, pantomining, baking, working on Loop Barbados and I could go on and on!

Hope everyone's christmas season is going as planned and everything you do is filled with festive fun! PS. The Holiday Rue issue is live ..yay
